Plane Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window

An aircraft carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the jet's front window, according to an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.

"The plane touched down based on established safety measures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson stated in a social media post.

Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital during the flight.

This incident isn't the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a top government figure has encountered equipment failures.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
