An American-Palestinian teenager who spent nine months in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges was released.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 at the time of his arrest this past winter within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting while residing in Florida accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.
United States authorities applauded Mohammed's liberation.
Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, relatives told the media.
They said he is pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems developed during imprisonment.
In a statement, the youth's uncle spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "living a horrific and endless nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"At this moment, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after being subjected to harsh conditions and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."
US officials said it would continue to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.
{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.
Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to the state department and the White House, urging greater action to release him.
Mohammed's parent, with four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed about rock throwing due to physical abuse.
He had not seen or spoken to Mohammed since February, learning information solely what had happened to him via legal paperwork.
The teenager remained absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility on the West Bank.
The facility also contains grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities and homicide.
There are around several hundred young Palestinian detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Many have never been charged and human rights groups, and international organizations, report instances of abuse and torture.
Subsequent to his liberation, the uncle stated the family would also continue fighting demanding accountability for their family member family member Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials was beaten to death by radical settlers following tensions last July.
During that period, military authorities reported authorities were looking into accounts of a Palestinian had died.
Mohammed and Sayfollah were employed together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.
No one has been charged for the cousin's murder.
"We anticipate United States leadership to safeguard our relatives," family representatives emphasized.
