Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
