Curtis Jones has shared that Salah expressed regret to the team in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to criticising the club and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
The player stated that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I understand there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and securing victories.”
