Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
