Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions involving women.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
