The concluding episode of the celebrity edition of the popular reality show was uploaded in error by overseas broadcasters before its scheduled UK airing on Thursday night, as confirmed official sources.
It is understood that the final was watched by a small number of viewers of the streaming service the streaming service in the North American country; these individuals were able to watch it for a couple of hours until it was taken down.
This episode being released was not considered a error by the producing network, and a representative for the corporation urged those who believe they know the outcome of the series to "avoid sharing any reveals".
"We urge those who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep any information they have to themselves," the announcement read.
"We ask you to refrain from posting any spoilers so that the vast audience who have been faithfully following every development of the show can enjoy the finale this evening."
The Celebrity Traitors is presently the most-watched TV show of the current year, with an average of 12.6m viewers over the initial installments.
Viewers of the series have been eagerly anticipating to see whether traitors Cat Burns and Alan Carr will win the £100,000 for charity or whether faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed and David Olosuga will be victorious.
A former winner of the third series of The Traitors stated that "no one likes spoilers", which are "the thief of joy".
He said he will be sitting down to view the final tonight live, with his entire family and "a bucket of popcorn".
Thursday night's concluding installment is lengthened to 70 minutes on BBC One, with an extended edition of The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked scheduled to broadcast on the secondary channel after the finale.
Host the host will be joined by the cast and the co-host as they react to the series conclusion.
